Whilst looking at the jalapeño, we looked at interesting chilli facts and it seems that chillies will be the first fruiting to be grown in space.  NASA are looking to grow the Espanola chilli pepper on the International Space Station and it will be the first fruiting plant in space. As we know, chillies are high in vitamin C and will act as a supplement to all the ‘cardboard’ space food that the astronauts eat.
